Our Club History

Established in 1966 by the Italo S.A. Club committee, Juventus Durban Football Club was born from Giuseppe (Joe) Pieri’s vision to create a football section within the main club, with support from Cleto di Paolo and Illario Conti. Inspired by the success of the Italian football team from Turin, the club garnered strong backing from the local Italian community. On April 3, 1966, the inaugural Juventus team, managed by Giuliano Colzi and Mario Avellini, and coached by Raimondo Esposito, entered the Durban Sunday League with 27 players.
